Natural Spring Cleaning Hacks for Your Appartment

Spring is almost here, and that means that many of us will want to get into spring cleaning. There are many natural alternatives to harsh chemicals that can get the same amazing results! There is nothing better than a fresh and sparkling clean apartment as the weather begins to warm up.

Windows and Mirrors Vinegar is an amazing natural cleaner that leaves glass sparkling clean and streak free. Try mixing equal parts of distilled white vinegar and water. You can then put your solution in a spray bottle and use with clean paper towels or a clean rag. Be sure to wipe away any dirt or debris in the window sills before beginning. Vinegar does have a smell that may be slightly unpleasant, but it dissipates more quickly than chemicals.

Stove and Oven Stove and oven cleaners can be especially harsh. The self-cleaning feature on ovens can be incredibly stinky! Baking soda and vinegar, along with a few minutes of hard work, can produce amazing results without the odor. Make a paste out of baking soda and water, then coat the inside of your oven and stove top with the paste. For best results, let this paste sit for a couple of hours. Next, spritz with pure vinegar. You will see the vinegar and baking soda react and begin to foam and froth. Wipe clean with a rough scrub sponge followed by a clean rag.

Microwave You can steam clean your microwave by placing some water into a microwave safe bowl and microwaving for several minutes. Let the microwave sit, closed, for a few minutes after it is done. Carefully remove the hot bowl and wipe clean!

Bathroom Baking soda and vinegar are the stars once again and can be used to clean the bath tub. Spread the baking soda/water paste over the tub, let sit, spritz with vinegar and wipe away. Essential oils such as lemon or basil can be added to the baking soda paste to give a clean and pleasant aroma. With these simple, safe and fresh cleaning hacks, your spring cleaning will be off to an amazing and effective start!
